Dated 28th November

Dear Parents/Guardians

Following the Government announcement on the Covid tiers after lockdown finishes, we can confirm that KLS will resume lessons on Friday 4th December as per our email from last week. Whilst we are in Tier 2, leisure and sports are able to continue inside but we will ensure that minimal contact with surfaces and social distancing are maintained.

Please remember that we are extending the term by 10 days, to the 21st December, in order to catch up on some missed lessons. Next term will start on Monday 4th January.

We look forward to seeing everybody from Friday onwards!

Kind Regards

Kerrie & Gavin

Dated 25th November

Dear Parents/Guardians

Kerrie and I hope you are all well and the lockdown v.2 has not been too impactive on your lives?

Following the recent announcement that lockdown will end on the 2nd December, we are pleased to say that we will be able to resume lessons at Kings’ School from Friday 4th December 2020.

The situation at Kings’ remains the same so there are no changes to the way we will be operating.

We are extending the term until Monday 21st December to try and catch up on some of the missed lessons. Any credits will be carried over to next term.

Owing to the lockdown, we were not in a position to send out invoices for next term. We needed an idea of what the Government was planning so that we can could work out the length of term. As such, we will be preparing invoices for sending out in the next week or so. We hope that your marvellous support continues. We have been bowled over by everyone’s appreciation so far. However, we do understand circumstances change, so if you do not plan to return next term, please let us know!

We will of course keep you informed should there be a changes ie the tier level this area is placed on is too high – and leisure is not allowed.

That’s all for now!

Stay safe

Kind Regards

Kerrie & Gavin

Dated 4th November.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are very sad, probably along with you, about our 2nd lockdown.  But, let’s be positive and focus on coming back when the lockdown finishes on 2nd December. We take pride in the fact that all of you have helped us adhere to the ‘new way’ of working during Covid-19.  We feel that we have had a successful half term, when we come back, we will be flying!

We have managed to book a couple of weeks after the original finish date of Friday 11th December.  So now, our end of term will be Monday 21st December.

Also, we have managed to secure two extra days for the Spring Term (Jan-Mar 2021). These dates are 4th January (Monday) and 20th February (Saturday).

Please rest assured that we will carry all credits owed over to the next term, luckily, we have not sent out invoices yet!  We will send out amended invoices towards the middle of December, when we should know whether we are out of this lockdown.

We are going to keep you updated, so please keep an eye on your emails over the next weeks.

Please stay safe and well…

Kind regards

Kerrie & Gavin

Dear Parents/Guardians

I am sure that most of you are aware that we seem to be heading for a month long lockdown from this Thursday 5th November.

We will be running classes on Monday 2nd November as normal

If we are only locked down for a month, we may be able to extend our term for a week longer,🤞.

We will email you again this week to let you know what is happening, so please bear with us.

Take care.

Dated 2nd October.

We are a month into our first term back and all is going really well.  We pride ourselves on creating a safe environment for our staff and children alike, so we would like to thank all of our parents and staff for their help in getting us to this point!  We are quite efficient now and are in a great routine with all of the Covid-19 restrictions in place.  Our Parent and Child assisted lessons are also going well, we have had some great feedback on these classes.

Please contact us if you wish some more information about joining KLS.

Dated 18th August.

Please see our Covid-19 walk through video…for the start of September term!

Dated 11th July.

Dear Parents/Guardians

As you may be aware, the Government has allowed swimming pools to reopen from 25th July 2020 and as such KLS are pleased to announce our plan to commence lessons again. However, because of timescales and Covid-19 training that we need to pass on to our teachers, we have decided that September will be the most appropriate time to begin. This means there will be no Summer Intensive Course as we had hoped for.

It is our intention to write to you individually with more information on how the Covid-19 regime will work at the pool. Invoices will be individually tailored to reflect credits/payments so that we have some continuity from where we left off in March! We intend to send invoices out at the beginning of August with a strict payment deadline as spaces will be limited. Classes will be a maximum of 4 due social distancing and pool bathing load restrictions.

Unfortunately, for safety reasons and the fact that teachers will not be allowed in the water, we are unable to run Duckling and Puffin classes until at least the New Year. All credits/payments will be honoured when these classes are able to resume.

Some of the new regime details will include a strict one way system inside the Community Centre/pool area, parents will not be allowed on poolside, swimmers must come swim ready, no changing rooms to be used (except toilets) and we will have to have a phone number for contact tracing. These are all Government/Swim England national guidelines which all swim schools need to follow.

These measures will hold place for the forseeable future but hopefully are a temporary way of life.

KLS hope that everyone has stayed safe over the past months and we are excited to get going again in September and understand that in these times of uncertainty not all of you will be wanting your child/ren to swim right away. Let us reassure you that all staff at the pool will be maintaining Covid-19 safety measures and regular cleaning of equipment and heavily used areas is planned.

As always, any questions, please contact us.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in September!

Kind regards

Dated 23rd June.

Due to Boris Johnson’s latest announcement on June 23rd, we still remain closed until the next review.

Dated 15th June.
Dear Parents/Guardians

We hope you and your families are all well?

We thought we would give you an updated idea of where we are with the swim school at the moment.  All of us, teachers included, cannot wait to get back to swimming, as I’m sure most of you wish to get back to some normality soon too.

As you may or may not know the planned return date for our industry is July 4th at the earliest.  We have not heard anything more from the Government as yet.  We are still waiting for our main governing body (Swim England) to publish their guidelines.  We have had some guidelines from our other governing bodies (STA and RLSS) but we need to get the information from Swim England as we are affiliated to them. Hopefully, we should get them later today!

Like you, we really want to return as soon as safely possible but I am not sure if  we will be able to return to the swim school before the end of July. We are keeping everything crossed that we may be able to hold the summer holiday course in August (10-14).

It is probable that all swimming pools will need time to make the essential tests/checks and heat the water before allowing their use which is why as the 4th July approaches, it would seem less likely they will be ready until August.

Until there is a clear indication of lockdown easing in the leisure industry, quite simply, we cannot be more specific.

We will keep you informed as soon as we hear any information.

Stay well and we look forward to seeing you all soon!

Dated 16th May.
Dear Parents/Guardians

We hope you and your families are all well?

We thought we would give you an updated idea of where we are with the swim school at the moment.  Our teachers and us cannot wait to get back, as I’m sure most of you wish to get back to some normality soon too.

We saw the Prime Minister’s phased return to normality at the beginning of the week, as I’m sure most of you did, and it looks like they are proposing we may be able to consider returning (in our industry) after the beginning of July at the earliest.

Obviously, we are completely reliant on the school and the leisure centres returning before we can go back.

We are also waiting to get guidance from our Governing bodies (RLSS, STA & Swim England) as to how we can open safely for the children, you and our lovely staff.  Apparently they are advising the Government and will be sending out advice for all swim schools and pool providers.  We are affiliated with Swim England as a school and I am a member of the STA and RLSS too.  So we should be getting information from all of those sources.

Like you, we really want to return as soon as safely possible but I am not sure if we will be able to return to the swim school this side of the Summer holidays, but we are keeping everything crossed that we can be up and running as soon as possible.
The reasons we are still unsure of when we will be open is that we are, as mentioned earlier, completely reliant on other areas (school/leisure centres) returning to business, that there is no second spike in the virus and guidance from the Government and our governing bodies being fully available and installed.

We will keep you informed as soon as we hear any information.

Stay well and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
Kind regards
Kerrie & Gavin
